Exterior:
The 308 GTB was introduced in 1975 as an alternative to the wedge shaped 308 GT4. The GTB featured a curvy Pininfarina designed body that quickly became loved and recognized as a classic Ferrari design. This car had only two seats however, and in 1977 the targa 308 GTS was introduced. Regardless of the body or model number, the Ferrari 308 is a classic Italian exotic supercar.
Interior: The
interior of the 308 is typical of Ferrari’s of the 1970s and 1980s.
This means the interior consists of comfortable leather seats, clear
gauges, a perfect shifter, and not much more. The cars came equipped
with crude buttons for the radio, AC and other options; however these
fall well short of modern supercar standards. The four seat models had
limited room in the back seats however they are usable. Overall the
interior of this car constantly reminds the driver they are in a true
hardcore supercar, not a luxury sedan.
Driving: For
such a hardcore supercar, the Ferrari 308 has a surprisingly
comfortable ride. The suspension is rather forgiving over bumps but is
still aggressive enough to handle as one would expect a Ferrari to.
The center mounted V8 enabled great weight distribution and handling.
Si and i models used fuel injection but otherwise remained mostly
unchanged. It is impossible to drive a Ferrari without smiling and
this car will not disappoint. It hasn’t gone unrecognized in history
either; Sports Car International named this car number five on the list
of “Top Sports Cars of the 1970s”. Ferrari 308s are extremely
reasonably priced right now, however collectors have been raising the
prices slowly over the years as the car gets more recognition.
Therefore there is no better time to buy a Ferrari 308 than right now.
